IHLS had an incredible maiden year, and we have much to anticipate and realize in the future. A lot of hard work, long hours, and multitude of meetings were responsible for the success of the first year in joining our four organizations into one. Live and Learn Construction Grant Workshops
Staff from the Illinois State Library will provide an overview of the Live & Learn Construction Grant Program for public libraries. These sessions will discuss the eligibility requirements, the three different grant categories available, and the application submission and review process. Applications are due January 11, 213.

Fund for Illinois Libraries
The Illinois Library Association (ILA) is the new home for the Fund for Illinois Libraries. Has your library received a gift that requires 501(c)(3) status? Gifts requiring 501(c)(3) status can be filtered through the Fund for Illinois Libraries. Find more details and annual fee information on the ILA website.
Try-it! Illinois is Underway
Try-It! Illinois, the annual statewide electronic database trial, is being offered for the 13th year by the Illinois State Library through November 30, 2012. Information has been added to the website.
ILLINET Interlibrary Loan and Reciprocal Borrowing Statistical Survey
The Illinois State Library has announced that the FY2011-FY2012 ILLINET Interlibrary Loan and Reciprocal Borrowing Statistical Survey is now available online. The deadline for completing the survey is November 30th. More information has been posted on the website.
ILEAD USA National Day of Application November 1
A National Day of Application will be held November 1, featuring a live Webinar from 10 a.m. to 12 noon CST. During the Webinar, ILEAD USA project directors will answer questions on completing the ILEAD USA application. More information has been added to the website.

New student registration begins on Nov. 8 for the College of DuPage Library & Information Technology program. Spring classes run January 10 – May 10, 2013. You may complete the entire 9-class certificate online.
