Earn School Library Professional Development Hours (PDH)
Five sessions will offer PDH credits for school librarians. Those sessions include:
* Building A New Normal
* What A New School Librarian Needs to Know
* When Health is at State: Quality Resources to the Rescue
* What Is a Collection Audit and Why Does My Library Need One?
* Stress and Relaxation
All attendees will be asked to sign in to each session. The time-in and time-out stamps on the session Zoom room sign-in will also serve as your PDH sign-in sheet. No additional sign-in/sign-out is required.
After the event, school librarians will be sent an evaluation via e-mail. When that is submitted to IHLS, the evidence of completion will be returned.
Tips for Getting the Most Out of Member Day
Clear your day. Regardless of what we were taught as children, the human brain can't give full attention to two tasks at once, especially when both require brainpower. Take advantage of the opportunity by committing to the speakers.
Limit distractions. You can make it easier to focus on what's being said by turning off notifications, closing or minimizing running apps, and muting your smartphone.
Read session descriptions in advance. This will help you choose sessions in advance and take advantage of break time for networking and browsing exhibits.
Check your tech before you start. Make sure you have a stable internet connection, and sign in to the first session early to ensure your device is ready for sessions. If you've never used Zoom before, you'll be prompted to download it before entering a session.
Ask presenters questions. Use the chat or Q&A (depending on the session and presenters' preference) to ask questions.
Stay hydrated. Have water or another drink ready before the session starts.
Get up and move. Take breaks from your chair. Stand up and walk around the room a few times or do a few jumping jacks.
IHLS Member Day 2020 will use Zoom for our sessions and chat rooms. If you have never used Zoom before, you will be prompted to download the Zoom app to your computer or mobile device; please be sure to log into your first session 15 minutes before the session starts.

Click the session you desire to enter.
Sign in to the session by entering your name, library/organization, and email address.
When you are prompted to download or open Zoom, please accept.
