New and Departing IHLS Board Members

Mary BeilDuring the June board meeting IHLS said goodbye to board member Mary Beil, Lebanon CUSD #9, and thanked her for the two years she dedicated to our service. Mary sat on the board from July 2016 through June 2018 and agreed to coordinate the board officer nomination committee for this year. Mary hopes to return to the board in the future and said she was happy to be part of the growth of our organization.

Sandy WestSandy West, Rend Lake College, was also recognized for her leadership as board president for the last two years. Sandy was instrumental in renewed advocacy efforts to bring IHLS to the forefront of our community. The goal is to educate the public on the mission and goals of IHLS in addition to emphasizing the importance and value of libraries. A rebranding campaign was the kickoff and Sandy even came up with our new tagline, “Imagining Tomorrow – Delivering Possibilities Today”. Sandy's current term ends at the end of fiscal year 2019.

Not pictured: We would also like to thank Tiffany Droege, Belleville Township High School #201 for serving on the IHLS Board of Directors from April 2017 – July 2018.

We thank Mary, Sandy, and Tiffany for their time, their dedication and contributions to the advancement and growth of IHLS.
