Web Developer and User Interface Specialist - UIUC

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign seeks a collaborative and experienced professional to join the University Library’s Web Team.  Working in the Library Information Technology unit under the direction of the Technical Architect for Web Content, the Web Developer and User Interface Specialist will develop and maintain data-driven and user-centered web pages and related internet applications.   The Web Developer and User Interface Specialist will initially focus on the re-design of the general Library website but may also collaborate with other Library units and groups that maintain web pages; and will contribute to the Library’s evolving user experience (UX) program.

Library Director - Crab Orchard Public Library District

The Crab Orchard Public Library District in Crab Orchard, Illinois, is seeking a professional, enthusiastic and creative leader to serve as our new director.

The library serves a population of 7,408 residents in the eastern third of Williamson County, Illinois, with a staff of three (3) part-time employees, besides the director, and a collection of about 17,000 items with an emphasis on technology services. The library offers educational programs and other resources to residents of the district, which includes one complete school district and part of two other school districts in our service area. There is potential for expansion of services.

Technology Manager - Wood River Public Library

Wood River Public Library is currently seeking an innovative, self-motivated, enthusiastic Technology Manager. This part time position averages 18 hours per week, with required evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities -

  • maintenance and upkeep of all Library technology, including  hardware, software, and networking for 13 patron-use computers, 6 staff computers, and 2 dedicated catalog computers.
  • Instructing the public on basic computer skills, using e-readers, and other technology

Librarian I - Lincoln Library (Springfield)

Lincoln Library-The Public Library of Springfield, IL (326 South 7th Street, Springfield, IL 62701) is seeking an individual to assist customers in making the most effective use of materials and information available in the library through a variety of ways, from assisting customers with computer databases to handling difficult reference questions using specialized tools. Other duties include, but are not limited to, collection development, processing interlibrary loans and weeding outdated or damaged materials. This position requires a Master’s degree in Library Science as well as professional judgment in methods and tools used. Evening and weekend hours required. This position is covered by AFSCME Local # 3738. Springfield serves a population of approximately 116,000.
