Big news! Illinois Heartland Library System (IHLS) is embarking on our seventh year of operations. In the last few years we have grown and come together as an organization. This is the perfect time to evaluate our organization’s brand and logo to ensure it conveys who we are today and how we are moving forward in the future. We are pleased to announce that today we are releasing an updated brand identity, which includes a new logo, colors, and font as part of the ongoing evolution of Illinois Heartland Library System. You will see the new look on our website, Facebook, and Twitter; and soon you will see it on all of our documents.
Our design goal was to better match our look to our values and the members we serve. The new logo has a crisp, clean look that will be easier for print purposes. We hope that it appears approachable, smart, friendly, connected, and also conveys movement. We transitioned from our gradients of teal and blues, dark teal and read to a cool and refreshing blues. The font that is deliberately clean, modern, and light, with a hint of fun.

At the IHLS Annual Meeting yesterday, we unveiled the new logo and an informational video that details our current endeavors and future goals as an organization. You can view the video on the updated IHLS website.”
In the upcoming months we will be updating all our print materials. Changing a logo is a process that can involve many steps and take some time, so we are taking an incremental approach.
