Library Staff and Board Members Asked to Update L2 Profiles
Library Learning (L2) is the official directory of IHLS member libraries and library staff members. L2 is used by the statewide library community as an event calendar and registration system, a directory of Illinois libraries, and a directory of library staff and public library board members.

Now is the time for library staff and board members to check their L2 profile and update their information. Visit L2 at to update profile information, change a password, list library affiliation(s), or add a photo.  If you already have an L2 account, please do not create a new one to update information.  If you have forgotten your password you can request that it be sent to you.  New staff members should visit and create an account by clicking Create Account.

A library director (or designee) has the ability to edit his/her library’s profile information, as well as to add/remove staff affiliations, and to register staff for L2 events. Directors may look up their library building using Find Libraries, and then check their library’s record for accuracy. Directors may also view and update the staff and board members affiliated with their library.

What’s New @ WebJunction Illinois: New Member Account Freeze
It's almost here! As we get ever closer to launching the recently enhanced WebJunction Illinois, we would like to announce a temporary new member account freeze. As of March 1, WebJunction Illinois users accessing the site for the first time will not be able to create an account with the current site.

Once we launch the new site, a new user who visits WebJunction Illinois will then be able to request a WebJunction account and request a course affiliation.

Upcoming Webinars: There is still time to register for the upcoming March webinars! If you are interested in attending a webinar, but cannot commit to that time, remember that the webinars are archived for later viewing.

It Takes a Community to Bridge the Digital Divide
Tuesday, March 6, 2012 - 12 pm CST - 60 min
In FCC Chairman Genachowski’s announcement of the sweeping Connect2Compete initiative to increase broadband connectivity and Internet access across the nation, he listed an impressive array of partners who are joining in the effort. Although he singled out libraries as “vital centers for digital literacy,” any effective actions must involve the whole community of players. Join us to hear about the key role that the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is playing in the broadband adoption challenge and the actions already underway for building digital communities. And also hear insights on the collaborative roles and efforts of city/county governments and public and private organizations. Learn how to get started with inclusion efforts from organizations who have taken the steps to implement practical programs which meet local needs and share your ideas about collaborative efforts which lead digital inclusion.
