Elkhart Public Library will be accepting applications and resumes for the following position: Library Assistant- 24 hours per week.
Hours of coverage needed: Tuesday through Friday 9-11am 12-4pm.
Occasional fill in for evenings or Saturdays. Attendance for special programming required (possible evenings and weekends).
Help create a customer friendly atmosphere in the busy Adult Services Department at the Main Library. Duties include assisting customers of all ages at our public service desks with information and reference questions; helps plan, prepare, and execute programming for teens and adults; assists and instructs customers in their use of library computers, personal electronic devices, and other technologies; prepares displays; and demonstrates library resources; and assists with collection support. Schedule includes daytime, evening and weekend shifts.
Put your people skills to work in our library, to help ensure the safety and comfort of our customers and staff. Model excellent customer service relating both to patrons and to library staff. The Security Officer will patrol buildings and grounds, at the Champaign Public Library, greeting and assisting customers of all ages, monitoring behavior inside the building and on the grounds, and help to maintain order and a quality experience for all. Possess reliable transportation and be willing to work at the Douglass Branch Library if and when the need arises.

Courier Drivers are a critical component to the provision of customer service. These positions sort and deliver books and other library materials to and from member libraries. Courier Driver services are provided Mondays through Fridays.
