The Illinois Heartland Library System’s Board of Directors met on Tuesday evening, July 26 at the
Carterville Office.

A significant highlight of the meeting included a report from the Executive Director Search Committee.
The committee recommended five finalists for the board’s consideration. Those finalists are: Leslie
Bednar, Tracy Byerly, Pat Boze, Beverly Obert and Adam Wright. Mr. Wright declined to pursue the
position, so the remaining four candidates will be interviewed by the Board of Directors.

LLSAPs in the Heartland

Local Library System Automation Projects (LLSAPs) are a benefit to members of Library Systems in Illinois.  Within the Illinois Heartland Library System, four automation consortia are working together toward a common, shared platform.  Together, the SILNET (Carterville), LINC (Champaign), Decatur LLSAP, and GateNet (Edwardsville) have more in common than you may realize!

Moving Forward Together

Is it hot enough for you yet?  July is zooming along for IHLS staff and the toasty weather has kept us all busy.  We are adjusting to the sheer size of our service area and utilizing electronic methods to meet in groups large and small.  Staff are refining administrative processes and looking at our service priorities from a higher perspective.

The IHLS Board of Directors will meet Tuesday, July 26th in Carterville.  Agenda and meeting documents are now available.  We hope to see you there!
