Printer-friendly version

Recently we’ve learned of three grants available for our libraries. The staff at IHLS wants to make sure that all our members have the information and the deadlines.  Here are the grants:

From the Illinois State Library

Back to Books Grant Program

This grant is designed to support the efforts of public and school libraries to develop their collections and engage readers of any age or ability in formal and independent reading or research. This offering allows for the purchase of books to support the reading and research needs of children, youth and adults.  For more information visit the Illinois State Library’s Back to Books Grant Program

Public Libraries and School Districts are eligible to apply.  Grants will be awarded in amounts between $1,000.00 to $4,999.00.

The deadline for grant submission is Friday, March 30, 2018

Illinois History - Digital Imaging Grants

This is a competitive grant for eligible libraries to digitize and provide web access to their important historical and cultural collections. The priority of the program is digitization of original source materials relevant to Illinois' history and culture, which includes local and/or regional history or events. This grant supports the digitization of existing materials and creates digital collections to be viewed via the Illinois Digital Archives and Digital Public Library of America.

For more information about the application, required application supplement, eligibility and specific requirements visit the State Library’s Illinois History – Digital Imaging Grant Offering.

Academic, Public, School and Special Libraries are eligible to apply.

The deadline for grant submission is Monday, April 16, 2018
