About the Organization
Marion Carnegie Library was originally funded and built with funds from Andrew Carnegie and opened it's doors in February 29, 1916. It is located in Marion, IL, just a block from downtown Tower Square. Marion has a population of just over 16,000 and in 2024, had a nearly 11,000 people come through the doors. The annual library budget is just under one million. There was an addition to the library in 1997 that boasts an architectural design that blends with the original 1916 style almost seemlessly. There are three distinct departments; adult, children's and young adult and each department provides resources and programing to serve all ages. -
