About the Organization
We are a small but valuable asset to the city of Cahokia Heights. Our patrons rely on us for copies, faxes, notary services, free computer usage, movies and, of course, our many, many books! -
Job Description and Responsibilities
The Director of our Library must be a people person, able to meet and work with the public. The Director's door should remain open except for private phone or in-person conversations. A working knowledge of the business behind the desk is important in order to be hands on when needed. Our small staff is very self-reliant, but any new ideas and decisions of the Director are to be respected. Monthly Board meeting attendance is required, along with a Director's report and Financial spreadsheet. -
Minimum Requirements to Apply
Masters Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Studies from an ALA accredited university required, two years minimum progressively responsible experience in library management and supervision recommended, valid driver’s license and insurance, ability to work Saturdays and occasional evening hours. A background in math or finance is desirable. -
