    ABOUT US
    The Fossil Ridge Public Library District, located in Braidwood, Illinois, serves 14,254 residents across ten communities southwest of Joliet. We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative individual to lead the Adult & Teen Services Department and develop engaging, unique services for adults and teens.

    This leadership role is responsible for overseeing adult and teen programming, collection development, and assisting in community outreach events. The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for creating meaningful library experiences for all library users.

  • Job Description and Responsibilities

    - Lead adult and teen services, including programming, outreach, and readers’ advisory.
    - Develop, manage, and promote adult and teen collections.
    - Assist our Marketing and Communications Specialist on digital content, including website updates, social media, brochures, bibliographies, and newsletters.
    - Serve as Person-in-charge in the Director’s absence, overseeing daily library operations, supervising staff, and ensuring excellent service to all library users.
    - Work closely with other departments to improve library-wide services and foster meaningful connections with local schools and community partners.

  • Minimum Requirements to Apply

    - Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program preferred but not required.
    - At least two years of experience in adult or teen programming, including two years in a supervisory position.
    - Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills.
    - Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and access to a vehicle for library business.
