    The Resource Sharing Alliance (RSA), is a library automation consortia covering about 13,500 square miles of central and west-central Illinois. RSA provides a shared library automation system and direct support to 134 member libraries in 174 locations.

  • Job Description and Responsibilities

    Resource Sharing Alliance (RSA) is looking for our next Library Systems and Data Analyst. We are seeking someone who is a dynamic team member, detail-oriented, and service-minded. The Library Systems and Data Analyst plays an integral role on our team, ensuring a high level of support for RSA member libraries, RSA staff and maintains a quality system and user databases.

    ** This full time position is set to begin in January, 2026. **

    Position Summary:
    The Library Systems and Data Analyst assists the Library Systems and Data Manager with supporting and maintaining all aspects of RSA’s library automation system operations including day-to-day operation and maintenance of the integrated library system, system/library parameters, and reporting tools. Responsible for creating, maintaining, updating, operating, and training member library staff on RSA’s various reporting tools and products. Ensures member library staff and Directors have the data and statistics required to operate their libraries and keep their Boards and Administration informed on how their library fits inside the RSA consortia.

    Core Job Functions:
    Library Systems:
    * Performs maintenance activities to ensure system integrity and operation.
    * Oversees and maintains systems, parameters, reports and other content for RSA staff and the member libraries.
    * Shares responsibility with the Library Systems and Data Manager for consistent uptime of systems.
    * Required to be on-call for evening and weekend trouble calls or system support on a rotating basis.
    * Participates in the testing of new and upgraded software, beta releases, and developmental partnerships.
    Data Analysis
    * Develops, maintains, updates, and runs complex custom reports for libraries
    * Coordinates with RSA staff and member libraries to create reports to identify problem sets where data can inform and direct decisions
    * Provides consulting services to members on report creation, customization, and modification and helps them understand their data and statistics
    * Prepares data stories which can be shared with the membership on a quarterly basis. These stories should be presented in various formats to gauge success of messaging and impact of information messaging.
    * Develops and maintains training materials for RSA staff and member libraries
    * Provides individual and group training on all RSA supported reporting products to RSA and member library staff
    * Proposes, develops, and maintains procedural and operational documentation for RSA’s reporting products

    Working Conditions:
    * Work takes place at the RSA office and member libraries with limited remote work opportunities after training.
    * Ability to work varied and extended hours, requiring occasional overnight and weekend travel as well as travel to member libraries during the workday.
    * Safely operate a fleet vehicle for RSA-related travel.
  • Minimum Requirements to Apply

    * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analysis, or related field required; Master’s degree in Computer Science preferred.
    * 1+ years combined work experience supporting hardware and software products at both system and end user levels required; other relevant IT support experience and training may also be taken into account.
    * 1+ years of data analysis experience required; relevant analysis experience in other areas may also be taken into account.
    * MicroStrategy or other complex reporting product experience preferred.
    * 1+ years of experience using or supporting integrated library systems preferred; familiarity with SirsiDynix Symphony preferred.
    * 1+ years of experience using online public access catalogs (OPACs) preferred.
    * 1+ years of experience delivering end user in-person and virtual customer service support strongly preferred; other relevant customer service experience will be considered.
    * Experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of training or workshops for individual and groups of adult learners.
    * Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
    * Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
