  • Job Description and Responsibilities

    The Decatur Public Library (DPL) seeks a full-time Programming Librarian (40 hours per week) to join our Programs, Resources and Services Division (PRS). This full-time Programming Librarian position will primarily serve at the Adult Desks, but will be cross-trained to serve at the Kid Desk. Must be able to provide stellar customer service and collaborate with coworkers to delight DPL patrons. As a full-time Programming Librarian at DPL, you will have the opportunity to educate and inspire our patrons by designing engaging programs and displays for patrons; answering reference questions; educating on technology; and providing excellent readers’ advisory service. Evenings and weekends are a requirement.

  • Minimum Requirements to Apply

    This position requires a Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution. Previous experience designing programs is desired.
