IHLS Libraries!
As part of our transition to a new style of delivery tubs, we currently have a number of Rubbermaid delivery tubs that are no longer in use. We would like to offer these tubs to interested member libraries free of charge through a limited-time grant opportunity.
What Is It?
This is a great opportunity to repurpose usable equipment for internal library use. These tubs are to be utilized for library purposes only and are not available for personal use. Libraries can request up to 30 tubs per grant. In the form, you will need to provide the number of tubs you are requesting (a range is acceptable and will be delivered in stacks of 10 tubs).
We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to support your library’s operational needs. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Colleen Dettenmeier at cdettenmeier@illinoisheartland.org or 618.474.9921.
I Need Details!
- About the Tubs
-
Tubs will be provided in “as is” condition, and libraries will not be able to come to our hubs to hand-select specific tubs. We will do our best to match lids to tubs where possible.
While several of our tubs are in good condition, others may have:
- Minor cracks
- Minor duct tape repairs
- Worn handles
- Mismatched colored lids/tub combinations
Any tubs deemed unsafe have already been discarded.
- How to Apply
-
If your library is interested, please complete the short application form linked below by December 15.
Please ensure that your response to the "Intended Use" question does not include any library-identifying details (such as library name, staff names, or other personal identifiers) to maintain confidentiality during the selection process. - Judging Process & Criteria

Grant applications will be reviewed by the internal IHLS Grant Committee, with library names and identifying information removed to ensure impartiality and fairness. Libraries selected to receive tubs will be notified and deliveries will take place in January.
