IHLS, Illinois Library Association (ILA), and Reaching Across Illinois Library System (RAILS) are excited to announce the release of a series of Directors University (DU) videos, called DU On Demand.
To help more Illinois library directors grow, regardless of budget constraints, Directors University on Demand content is shared at no cost. However, it will not replace the annual in-person Directors University experience, which provides networking opportunities, real-time conversations with mentors, and more.
This new online content is specifically designed for new public library directors, but it is also available to staff at any level in any Illinois library. Topics include :
- Emergency Preparedness
- Illinois Library Systems
- Insurance Basics
- Navigating the Levy Process
- Strategic Planning
- Succession Planning
These videos provide foundational skills for Illinois public library directors. Many of these topics will be new to first-time directors. The format is flexible, allowing you to learn at your own pace.
Staff from member libraries can access these videos in the IHLS Continuing Education page using their Library Learning (L2) login credentials. New content will be added regularly; please check back.
