Mississippi Valley Library District's Marketing Microgrant Project

Illinois Heartland Library System

Published : May. 13, 2025

Plink, plink-plink, plink, plink, PLUNK!

The sound of kids and their grown-ups playing a prize drop game provided by the Mississippi Valley Library District (MVLD) added to the carnival-like atmosphere of a recent elementary school outreach event. The prize drop game, along with a bulletin board to display posters and an online resources demonstration tablet, were recently purchased by the MVLD thanks to the funding from the IHLS Marketing Microgrant program. These items are part of a Ready-To-Go Outreach Kit assembled by the MVLD and being deployed at community events in Collinsville and Fairmont City. The kit makes it easy for staff—including those without prior outreach experience—to have what they need to successfully share information about the MVLD’s resources and services.

The MVLD is grateful to IHLS for this grant opportunity.
