Census Participation

From the Office of the Secretary of State:

Pursuant to authority granted by Sections 345 of Public Act 100-0586, the Office of the
Secretary of State (SOS) shall award the sum of $1,500,000, or so much thereof as may be
necessary to community providers statewide to encourage census participation.
Based on this authority, the SOS is requesting proposals from responsible parties to address these
needs. If interested and able to meet the requirements set forth in this RFGP, the SOS
appreciates and welcomes all responses.

2019 Herb Biblo Travel Grant

The Social Responsibilities Round Table of the American Library Association (SRRT) is pleased to announce the first annual Herb Biblo Conference Travel Grants to help finance up to two SRRT members' attendance at the ALA Annual Conference. The $1000 award covers limited fees related to airfare, lodging, and conference registration.

NIH Health Sciences Library Project Award

The purpose of the Health Sciences Library Project Award is to support health sciences librarians as conduits of information management, access, and delivery within their institution and/or outreach community. Hospital libraries, community college libraries, libraries supporting 2- and 4-year degrees in the health sciences and libraries at medical schools are encourage to apply.

Costco Wholesale

Costco's giving is focused on Children, Education and Health and Human Services. Their grants are generally program or event based. Applicants must be IRS 501(c)(3) non profit organizations in the markets where they do business. Most friends or library foundations with 501c3 status would qualify, but not individual schools or government-run libraries.

Big Lots Foundation Grants

Big Lots Foundation funds support programs that will enhance the lives of children and families in the areas of hunger, housing, healthcare, and education. Priority will be given to programs serving women and children. Applicants must have a 501(c)3 public nonprofit status and be located in the United States near Big Lots stores or distribution centers. Foundation for Rural Service

As part of its ongoing commitment to rural communities across the country, FRS offers aid to communities served by NTCA members through its annual Community Grant Program. These grants are designed to provide support to a variety of local efforts to build and sustain a high quality of life in rural America.

Great Stories Club

From the ALA website:

Working with small groups of approximately 10 teens, grantees will host reading and discussion programs for up to four thematically related books. The titles — selected in consultation with librarian advisors and humanities scholars — are chosen to resonate with reluctant readers struggling with complex issues like academic probation, detention, incarceration, violence and poverty.
