Oberman and Rich Reaching Forward Conference Grant
The grant recognizes the contributions of a support staff member to the library community and the role of support staff in libraries. The grant is open to support staff working in all types of libraries. Persons may nominate themselves or others. Recipient(s) will receive free registration to the current year Reaching Forward Conference and a framed certificate. The nomination deadline is March 31, 2021. The Games and Gaming Round Table of the American Library Association is proud to sponsor its annual grant program to enable libraries to develop gaming programs or collections for their patrons. Through the Game On! grants $500.00 will be available to be awarded either as one grant of $500 or two of $250 each to assist a library or libraries in developing gaming programs or collections for their communities.
Underfunded libraries, schools and non-traditional organizations that provide educational services to children are invited to apply to receive one of three Coretta Scott King Book Donation Grants. Every year, in the process of choosing the Coretta Scott King Book Award winners and honor books, the Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table (EMIERT) of the American Library Association receives multiple copies of over 100 titles by African American authors and illustrators.
The American Library Association (ALA) announced the second funding round of its Libraries Transforming Communities (LTC): Focus on Small and Rural Libraries grants, that will distribute an additional $1.4 million to libraries.
The Illinois State Historical Records Advisory Board (ISHRAB), using funding from National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), is offering grants of up to $5,000 to Illinois historical records keepers to develop and/or carry out projects that show commitment to developing and/or implementing projects that will lead to enhanced online access.
This grant provides up to $1,000 to library professionals passionate about continuing their education.
Illinois Heartland Library System (IHLS) is retiring five (5) well-cared-for surplus delivery vans at the end of 2020. To further portions of our mission, including supporting member libraries of all types in providing quality library services, facilitating access to shared resources, promoting innovation, and developing community partnerships, IHLS plans to grant these vehicles to member libraries to assist in their community outreach projects, especially those that expand Wi-Fi access within their communities.
The International Relations Roundtable is calling for proposals for its 2021 IRRT Mission Enhancement Grant. This grant was established by the IRRT to fund member-initiated proposals for international activities and initiatives which contribute to ALA’s role in international librarianship.
Illinois is releasing $50 million in funding for the second round of matching grants through Connect Illinois, the state’s $420 million statewide broadband expansion plan. This appropriation will begin to expand access to reliable, high-speed internet service statewide.
