Penny Severns Family Literacy Program

Grant projects provide integrated, intensive instruction to improve the basic reading, writing skills, math or English language proficiency of parents and children together. Services include adult education, child education, parenting education, literacy-based, interactive, parent-child activities and library services.

2019 IRRT Mission Enhancement Grant

ALA The International Relations Roundtable is calling for proposals for its 2019 IRRT Mission Enhancement Grant.  This grant was established by the IRRT to fund member-initiated proposals for international activities and initiatives which contribute to ALA’s role in international librarianship.  Goals for the funding of proposals are to promote international projects or partnerships, to promote global dialogue about librarianship, to increase visibility of international librarianship, and to increase international collaboration in librarianship.

Diversity Research Grants

The American Library Association (ALA) Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services seeks proposals for the Diversity Research Grant program. Applications may address any diversity-related topic which addresses critical gaps in the knowledge of diversity, equity and outreach issues within library and information science. Proposals are due by midnight Pacific time on April 15, 2019. 

Bookapalooza

Each year the ALSC office receives nearly 3,000 newly published books, videos, audiobooks, and recordings from children’s trade publishers. These materials, primarily for children age birth through fourteen and are submitted to ALSC award and media evaluation selection committees for award and notables consideration.  After each ALA Midwinter Meeting in January, these materials (published in the preceding year) need to be removed from the ALSC office to make room for a new year of publications.1

Big Lots Foundation Grants

Loleta D. Fyan Grant

From the ALA website:

Purpose

Loleta Fyan, 1951-52 ALA President, bequeathed funds to ALA with the intent that "these funds be used for the development and improvement of public libraries and the services they provide."
