Thinking Money for Kids, an initiative of the American Library Association (ALA) and the FINRA Investor Education Foundation, strives to teach children and their parents, caregivers and educators about financial topics — like saving, spending, sharing and budgeting — in a way that is both meaningful and fun.
Since 1956 the Fred J. Brunner Foundation has given grants to numerous organizations. The Foundation focuses its grant giving on organizations that help those who are the most vulnerable, especially the young and the elderly. Education, shelter and hunger have been guiding premises in choosing recipients. The greater Chicago area has been the primary location of recipients, although exceptions have been made.
The Chisholm Foundation welcomes grant applications from anywhere in the United States that are compatible with its mission to support the arts, education, and religion.
The Lois Lenski Covey Foundation awards grants to organizations that operate a lending bookmobile that travels into neighborhoods populated by underserved youth.
FRS Community Grants are awarded annually to nonprofit organizations, schools, community groups, municipalities and other organizations doing good work in your community. *Several schools and libraries were awarded funding in 2022.
PLA Digital Literacy Workshop Incentive, supported by AT&T is designed to foster public library adoption of eight core DigitalLearn basic topics. This program is awarding 100 libraries $5,000–$10,000 each as incentives for conducting workshops on DigitalLearn. Libraries may choose from eight core digital literacy topics.
NextFifty Initiative is dedicated to funding mission-driven initiatives that improve the lives of the older adult population and their caregivers. NextFifty’s Advancing Innovation in Aging grants invest in new and ongoing innovative projects throughout the U.S. that seek to rethink how people age and how people think about aging. NextFifty seeks to partner with organizations that are visionaries, community leaders, and educators to fuel ideas that drive improvements to the experience of aging and explore advancements in longevity.
Walmart and the Walmart Foundation strive to systematically address some of the biggest economic, environmental and social challenges faced in the world today. Local community grants are awarded through an open application process and provide funding directly from Walmart and Sam’s Club facilities to local organizations in the U.S.
