The Ameren Cares program connects Ameren with the communities it serves through charitable giving. A key focus of Ameren Cares is to partner with nonprofit organizations that improve the quality of life of people living in Ameren's service territory. Ameren donates to non-profit organizations in Missouri and central and southern Illinois each year that are located within our service area. The School District Library Grant Program is designed to help provide more library books and materials for the students of public schools in Illinois. The state legislature has authorized up to a $.75 per pupil expenditure for qualifying schools. The grant award is based on funds appropriated by the General Assembly and the official enrollment as of the previous September 30th of a school district.

Landmarks Illinois’ Preservation Heritage Fund grants are intended to provide monetary assistance to significant structures or sites in Illinois that are under threat of demolition, in imminent deterioration, in need of stabilization, in need of structural or re-use evaluation, or need to be evaluated for landmark eligibility. The Preservation Heritage Fund was established in 2004.
This grant is designed to provide one set of Readers’ Choice Award books (Monarch, Bluestem, Rebecca Caudill, or Abraham Lincoln) to a school.
