NREA Foundation Teacher of the Year Award

The National Rural Education Association presents the Annual College Board Rural Teacher of the Year Award to a deserving teacher. The College Board Rural Teacher of the Year Award is sponsored and funded by the College Board. The support provided lets the College Board Rural Teacher of the Year receive a $2,000 honorarium, and the Rural Teacher of the Year's school district receives $1,000 to purchase instructional materials and school supplies. 

 

The competition for the College Board Rural Teacher of the Year is open to all rural teachers.

Illinois Reading Council – Literacy Support Grants

The Illinois Reading Council will award financial grants to local and special interest councils and individuals council members for the purpose of promoting literacy development in the school and community, and/or providing professional development opportunities related to the improvement of reading and writing instruction. If fulfilling one of the above stated purposes requires a joint effort with another school, district, or other agency, letters stating their intended involvement are required from these agencies.

The Sharon Darling Innovation Fund Family Learning System Challenge

The SDIF at the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) is seeking proposals from interested organizations (adult education programs, early childhood programs, child care, out-of-school time programs, school districts, etc.)  to develop and implement innovative programs, initiatives, products, processes, or strategies aimed at significantly improving the status quo in family literacy, family engagement, and/or family leadership.

VOYA – Unsung Heroes Awards

Voya Unsung Heroes could help turn great ideas into reality for students.

AASL – STEM Special Event Grant

The STEM Special Event Grant program supports a special event to increase student engagement. The goal is to provide direct assistance funding to middle or high school libraries for special short-term projects or events that would engage students to promote STEM education and promote student interest in a career in the STEM field.

Entrepreneurship & Libraries Conference Pitch Competition

Is your library a player in economic development? If not yet, could it be? Do you have an idea on how your library could contribute to local job creation, entrepreneurship, and nonprofits — but you could use a little funding to get started? Then please consider submitting to the third annual pitch competition of the Entrepreneurship & Libraries Conference (ELC). The focus of the pitching is how a library can support local economic development, job hunters, workforce development, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and/or small businesses.

Southern Arts Fund Grant

The Southern Arts Fund (SAF) encourages arts programming and education by distributing grants to artists and community organizations throughout Southern Illinois. Individual artists, nonprofits, governmental organizations, and educational institutions are invited to submit project proposals that demonstrate a strong public service or community outreach component.
