The successful candidate will: act as the contact person for all media sources; represent the library in community groups; assist in developing programs; manage the library’s marketing and PR initiatives; lead staff development and training opportunities; participate in the preparation, submission, and management of grant proposals; promote library services and activities to community groups; produce and disseminate all public relations materials; assist other staff in the operation of the circulation desks in all departments. The schedule is eight hours per day, five days per week, with occasional evenings and Saturdays required. Candidates must live within a 20 mile radius of the Marion City Hall or move to within that radius in 18 months. They must successfully pass a drug and medical screen and be approved by the Marion City Council.
